Every meaningful movement begins with a single, honest question. Ours was this, what happens when grief and the ocean meet?
Blueprint Ocean Legacy was born from the belief that loss does not have to be the end of the story. That the families who have loved and lost someone also carry the capacity to love and protect something bigger than themselves. That grief, when given direction, can become one of the most powerful forces for healing in a family, and in an ecosystem.
We are brand new. And we are just getting started.
What We Do
Blueprint Ocean Legacy sits at the intersection of bereavement support and ocean stewardship. Through our Grief to Reefs™ program, we support grieving families who want to honor their loved ones by becoming guardians of the ocean. We connect loss to legacy through ocean education, living memorialization, and community.
Why Now
The ocean needs guardians. Right now, only 8% of the ocean is protected. World leaders have committed to protecting 30% by 2030. The High Seas Treaty entered into force in January 2026. The window for action is open and it will not stay open forever.
At the same time, grief support is evolving. Families are looking for ways to memorialize their loved ones that go beyond the traditional. They want something living. Something that grows. Something that matters.
Blueprint Ocean Legacy exists at exactly that intersection. And the timing could not be more urgent or more right.

A Note from Our Founder
We started Blueprint Ocean Legacy because we saw two communities grieving in parallel and rarely finding each other. Families who had lost someone. Our oceans and coastlines losing their reefs. Both in need of care. Both in need of community.
We are not waiting until everything is perfect to begin. We are beginning now, imperfectly and honestly, because the need is real and the moment is here.
